Citizens of the World Scholarships

 

This program aims, among other things, to attract the world’s top talent with international student scholarships to help them become the leaders of tomorrow.

Excellence scholarships (for undergraduate, master’s and PhD programs)

The Citizens of the World Excellence Scholarships are intended for international students who have submitted a new application for admission for the summer or fall 2026 semester. The objective of these scholarships is to promote academic excellence.

 

Bachelor’s and professional master’s degrees

Scholarship’s value

  • Scholarships worth $20,000
These scholarships do not cover the full cost of a year of study in Quebec City (tuition fees and living expenses). See the Fees and budgeting page.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Submit your application

To apply, you must have submitted a full admission application. Once your file has been opened* by the Registrar’s Office, you can log in to the scholarships directory and fill out the form accessible from the scholarship sheet. You do not need to have received an offer of admission from Université Laval to proceed.

 

*It may take a few days for your file to be opened.

Selection results

Selection results are usually announced at the beginning of March. At that time, if your application is successful, you must have officially received a conditional or final offer of admission from the University. Candidates on the waiting list will not be considered.

 

 

Research master’s with thesis and PhD

Scholarship’s value

    • Research master’s programs with thesis: Total value of $20,000 ($5,000 per semester, up to four semesters)
    • PhDs: Total value of $30,000 ($5,000 per semester, up to six semesters)
These scholarships do not cover the full cost of a year of study in Quebec City (tuition fees and living expenses). See the Fees and budgeting page.

Commitment scholarships (for master’s and PhD programs)

The Citizens of the World Commitment Scholarships are intended for international students who have submitted a new application for admission for the winter, summer or fall 2026 semester in a regular master’s or PhD program at Université Laval.

 

The objective of these scholarships is to support talented university students who demonstrate outstanding commitment and leadership, in various fields and who inspire their community.

 

Master’s degrees and PhDs

Scholarship’s value

  • Master’s: Total value up to $20,000 ($5,000 per semester)
  • PhD: Total value up to $30,000 ($5,000 per semester)
